This report, compiled by US navy medical officer Raymond Spear in 1906, provides a detailed account of the medical and sanitary conditions of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). Drawing on extensive interviews with both Russian and Japanese medical personnel, as well as observations of battlefields and hospitals, Spear analyzes the strategies and technologies used in treating various physical and mental illnesses during this pivotal conflict in world history.
